Bringing back that early 90’s Slowcore/Post-Rock sound that we all know and love, All Structures Align transport us back to the beloved sounds of Unwound, Slint, Enablers, Pinback, Unwound, and June Of 44. I tend to be slightly skeptical whenever something like this is released, but there was absolutely no doubt in my mind that this album was going to be anything short of incredible, especially after completely falling in love with their release of ‘Details and Drawings’ back in 2022, but also that both albums were released on one of my favourite record labels – Wrong Speed Records.
This album for me delivers non stop remarkable chord progressions, irresistible hooks that are hard to forget, and dynamic shifts that lead listeners through what I believe is one of the best releases in a very long time. There’s something about that soft/loud dynamic that just grabs me and absorbs me instantly. Taking those riffs down a notch, slowing down the tempos and volumes to create tension that’s ready to burst into an oblivion of sonic perfection. Even just writing about it is giving me goosebumps. I just bloody love it.
